This Privacy Policy provides a clear and comprehensive explanation of how we collect, process, use, disclose, store, and safeguard your information when you access or use our ride-sharing platform, MovePay wallet, and related features.
By accessing or using Moveham, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This policy is designed to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), and all other applicable data protection and privacy laws. We may update this policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on our platform with the updated "Last updated" date, and material changes will be notified to you.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, including:
- Full name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
- Profile picture, government-issued identification (e.g., NIN, driver's license, passport)
- Payment information, bank details, and MovePay wallet credentials

- Any other information you choose to provide through support tickets or feedback forms
Location Data
We collect precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates, pickup and drop-off addresses, and route information) to enable ride matching, navigation, real-time tracking, and service delivery. Location data is only collected when the app is actively in use and with your explicit consent. You may disable location services at any time through your device settings, though this may limit core functionality.
Usage and Technical Data
We automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device model, operating system, browser type, app version, unique device identifiers, crash logs, trip history, ratings, reviews, and interaction data. This helps us maintain service quality, improve performance, and detect fraudulent activity.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes:
- Service Delivery: Facilitate ride bookings, driver-rider matching, route optimization, payment processing
- Safety and Security: Identity verification, background checks, fraud prevention, risk assessment, and incident response

- Personalization: Tailor your experience, recommend services, and show relevant content
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
With Trusted Service Providers
We engage third-party vendors and partners who provide essential services such as payment processing, cloud hosting, identity verification, mapping services, SMS/email notifications, and analytics. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it solely for the purposes we specify.
During Active Trips
Limited personal details (name, profile photo, rating, and vehicle information) are shared between riders and drivers to facilitate safe and smooth trips. Real-time location data is shared only during an active ride and ceases once the trip ends.
Legal and Safety Disclosures
We may disclose your information when required by law, regulatory authorities, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Moveham, our users, or the public. This includes responding to court orders, subpoenas, government requests, or in cases of suspected fraud or illegal activity.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to the same protections outlined in this policy.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously and employ robust technical, administrative, and physical safeguards, including:
- End-to-end encryption of data in transit and at rest (using TLS 1.3 and AES-256)
- PCI-DSS and CBN-compliant secure payment processing systems
- Regular third-party security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments
- Employee training on data protection and confidentiality obligations
- Dedicated incident response and data breach notification procedures
While we implement commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by the NDPA.
